Appointment of Chong Khai Siang as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Validus

Singapore-based SME financing platform, Validus, has appointed Chong Khai Siang as their new group Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Chong brings over two decades of experience in finance, treasury, and capital markets, specializing in SME and global financial markets across Asia. Prior to joining Validus, he held senior roles at Fullerton Financial Holdings and Standard Chartered.

Validus, founded in 2015, aims to address the financing needs of SMEs in Southeast Asia. With Chong’s appointment, the company is poised to accelerate its financial strategies and drive growth across the region. Validus has already disbursed over SGD 5 billion in SME loans across Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand.

The company utilizes data analytics and AI to provide lending solutions to underserved SMEs, with the support of strategic investors and venture capitalists. Validus holds licenses from regulatory authorities in Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand, and is on track to become ASEAN’s first SME-focused financial services provider.

Chong’s expertise will be crucial in identifying opportunities and implementing robust financial solutions to bridge the financing gap faced by SMEs in the region. Validus is well-positioned to continue its rapid growth and expansion in Southeast Asia under his leadership.
